Everything customers ask us
How is my auto transport quote calculated?
Distance, vehicle size and weight, whether it runs, trailer type, seasonality and how many trucks currently run your lane. A quote that ignores those variables is a guess.
Do you require a deposit?
We do not collect large up-front deposits. Payment terms are confirmed in writing when a carrier is assigned.
Open or enclosed: which should I choose?
Open transport suits the vast majority of vehicles and costs less. Choose enclosed for collector, exotic, freshly painted or low-clearance vehicles. Our guide on open vs enclosed transport covers the tradeoffs in detail.
Can I pack personal items in the car?
Carriers may allow up to roughly 100 pounds in the trunk, but personal belongings are not covered by cargo insurance and add DOT-regulated weight. We recommend shipping the car empty.
What happens if my car is damaged?
Note it on the bill of lading at delivery before the driver leaves, photograph it, and call us. We manage the claim with the carrier's cargo insurer on your behalf.
How do I track my vehicle?
You get the driver's direct number at dispatch plus proactive updates from our office at pickup, midpoint and the day before delivery.
Do you ship to Hawaii or Alaska?
We arrange the mainland leg and coordinate with ocean carriers for the water portion. Call for specifics.
Can you pick up from an auction or dealership?
Yes. Give us the location name, buyer number and release paperwork details and we handle the gate process.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Major credit cards, ACH and certified funds. Some carriers require cash or a certified check on delivery, which we always disclose before you commit.
Is Speedy Car Logistics a carrier or a broker?
We are a licensed vehicle shipping agent. We coordinate transport with a vetted network of insured carriers, which gives you far more equipment and route options than any single truck operator.
What if nobody can be at the delivery address?
Designate any adult to receive the vehicle and sign the inspection. Provide their contact information at booking.
Do you handle oversized trucks and lifted vehicles?
Yes, with advance notice. Height and weight affect trailer assignment, so give us accurate measurements.
